Staying on the Point

At setting course for where we want to go and what we want to experience. This is a powerful practice and really does aid in having clarity in life. On what we do and don’t want to direct our intention to.

We are powerful energetic beings and where our attention goes energy flow. It’s as simple as that.

But we are also here to truly experience. To be. To fully engage and to learn. To grow and expand. That in the end is the point. Expansion.

If our focus is always on where we are going, what we want to experience, then there can arise a situation where we are missing the experience altogether. Always planning and focusing on the ‘future’ experience or desires.

This is especially true when we are experiencing less than desirable situations. It can feel like we want this time to go. And, if we have been diligently doing our intention setting etc, we may sometimes feel like ‘we are doing it wrong or we have not been focusing enough.

But what if what is here, in front of us, challenging us, was what was needed for us to see and grow. To see and be clear of the next move. Or just truly experience all that is here to see.

One of my great teachers refers to this moment of presence, this moment when there can be discomfort or even a moment when there can be joy and sadness at once clarity and confusion, discomfort, and ease, as ‘staying on the point’. Just stay there for a moment. With open vision. Open senses. Open awareness. Like a traffic director at a busy intersection. Aware of all direction and just staying with what is at the centre. Taking in all that is.

It’s a powerful experience for me. That not needing to change anything. Not needing to move. Not judging myself for being there. Not looking for answers at that moment. Just allowing and experiencing the experience.
